Level 3 AET / PTLLS learning would include:
1. The relationship between theory/principles and practice in the context of their role/future role.
2. A planned approach to reading and research.
3. Evidencing a coherent view of the role.
4. A style of presentation which involves adequate referencing to essential sources. (Harvard Referencing)
5. Reflection on own practice grounded upon reading.

The course introduces you to planning, teaching and assessing learners in the sector and evaluating your effectiveness as well as examining the roles and responsibilities of teachers in the sector.

  Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector, acts as a practical introduction to teaching in the lifelong learning sector.  You will be introduced to the roles and responsibilities of teachers in the sector, consider the issues of equality and diversity and be introduced to notions of reflective practice. 

You will learn how to devise basic session plans, prepare resources, assess learning against a course requirement, provide support to learners and be made aware of key legislation and to evaluate their work.  You will also engage in an observed teaching session and/or in a microteaching session with your peers.

The decision as to what constitutes an appropriate qualification is at the discretion of the training provider. Please check our forthcoming course date in the website or call us for the exact course starting date.

How long is the training course? It has been designed to be completed by 3 - 4 Days depending on past experience and personal capabilities / competence.

Class Based PTLLS / AET Course: Please note: After 3 - 4 days in the class, your tutor will set a deadline with you to submit your portfolio. However, if you submit early you will be certified early.

The Distance Learning course:

The distance learning course is done at your own pace with a Tutor's Support & Guidance. All necessary materials will be sent to you by Special royal mail delivery once you book the course. The entry requirement for this course is the basic functional skills (Numeracy, Literacy, ICT). However, we recommend the distance learning course for Individual's with competence or experience. Once you book this course, you will be given up to 12 weeks to complete the assignments. However If you finish earlier, you will be awarded early. (You do not need to wait for upto 12 weeks). Within the 12 weeks, you need to come in for 1 day Micro-teach and assessment at any of our training venue close to you. During the micro teach, you will be observed by other delegates on the course, and your Tutor. (All resources such as Projector, Computer, Flip chart will be provided for your Micro-tech session). Course assessment: No formal examination is required for this course, but at the end of the course you need to submit a portfolio.
